Mozilla Firefox

I was having a few problems with IE and Microsoft, and a buddy suggested Mozilla firefox.
I tried it, so far all I can say is cool. Much better than IE.
Anyone else here using it?

sketchers356 01-06-2008 08:16 PM

Everyone.

sketchers356 01-06-2008 08:18 PM

Oh,
Also, load it up with addons. Some of my favorites are Tab Mix Plus, and Adblock plus.

Haha...very true

Sammy, search for the add-on that lets you open up IE tabs inside of firefox so that you can access pages that occasionally don't work in firefox.

Been using it for quite some time now. My dad uses opera, which seems pretty nice too. +1 for the mozilla add-ons, some of them are really good.

Love Mozilla Firefox. Can it be used on a Touch IPod?

ikarcuaso 01-06-2008 10:51 PM

The VideoDownloader add-on is the sh|t!

sketchers356 01-06-2008 11:03 PM

I also use FoxyTunes.

I used it for awhile, until Safari came out with their latest version.
Safari seems about 4 times as faster than Firefox... At least on MAC OS??

I use Firefox with the following suggested mods (which a fellow Pelican pointed out on a thread started by Wayne back in May of last year). Much, much faster now. Like, lightning fast.

Switched to FireFox when IE 7 crap came out and it's awesome!

One thing though, is say when you scroll down to the middle of a page, open a link, then go back to the first page, it doesn't return you to the middle of that page and you have to scroll down again. It's a minor nuisance especially when forum and ebay surfing. I've noticed it works like IE on some sites but not all, and I can't figure out what makes the difference.

I like Download Status-bar add-on. Instead of a separate download window you get a bar at the bottom of the screen with "tabs" for each download item.

Use the add-on Fasterfox - works well for me.

Which add-ons work bet when surfing for pr0n? :D

Firefox is the shizzle. I only use IE at work for our intranet where Firefox isn't liked.

IE is a piece of crap. With their market share (I read the other day IE is 90%) you'd think M$ could come up with a better browser. I switch to firefox within days of its first release and never looked back. When I have to use IE on someone else's machine it drives me nuts. I do agree though about the "back" function putting you to the top of the page - big PITA.

edit: of course, with their market share, you'd think M$ could come up with a better OS, too...

Mozilla is all I've been using for over 3 years and hardly ever any problems.

masraum 01-07-2008 07:37 AM

I've been using Netscape, and then Firefox primarily since 1996. I still have IE, and use it once in a blue moon unless you consider the fact that I have IEtab. I also use firefox at work.

As stated, IEtab is a great add-on as well as Adblock Plus.
