Tornado Night!

We in Missouri get these (usually) in the Spring but of course they can happen anytime with proper weather conditions. The last two days we have had record high temps. for Jan. (70's)

Last night a cold front collided with the warm air from the south and between 7:00 PM and and 4:00 AM this morning they had 10 -12 tornados, like a train one -after- the- other...from south east Oklahoma up through Southwest Missouri. One elderly woman killed in her home (only fatality reported so far).

Followed by straight line winds in excess of 80 MPH. Much damage.

Since 1950 there have only been 5 tornado's in Jan. (Springfield station reports)Now, 10-12 in one night!

I just did a walk-around here, (it went mostly to our north and west). We had winds and heavy rain, some small hail (some areas had baseball size hail reported) and small limbs down.

Looks like I will be loading up the tools, chainsaw, etc. and going off to volunteer this week.

We got lucky here.

we had one destroy 11 homes about 4miles from here yesterday as well

tornado is a scary item, glad we get earthquakes instead
