Lexa pro for anyone under 25 is a questionable call - it is suggested that that drug increases the risk of suicide. Sounds like she has all sorts of chems running through her body - some manmade and some are from her own physiology. The mix is a recipe for disaster.

As much as the folks on this bored may have good intentions, any adice that you follow should come directly from a professional on this matter.

You aren;t asking how to install a sway bar, this is a childs life and IMO requires very quick action on the part of a professional.

From what you have said she doesn't seem like the type to take advice or make proper decisions on her own. If she is under 18, you have more options, but if she is over 18 you don't.

The world is full of girls and boys like this - some from broken homes others not. There are as many reasons and solutions as there are these kids. You and your bride may do all the right things yet if she doesn't take hold of them it will be all for nothing.

Prepare yourself for the worst because it will most likely happen here - not saying anyone wants it to happen or that you should give up hope but this doesn;t look like it is going to be a quick fix or end anytime soon...

The reason I posted here is - everyone I talk too around the situation will not not take this for the seriousness that I belive it is.
NO it is NOT a sway bar, !!!!
But if enough medical people jump in here , I will have some ammo for attn !!! And at the same time get some great advise.
Thats the value of this board ,,there are so many great people here .
thanx.

This is not my field, but I still see many teenagers in this situation at the hospital. It is completely inadequate to give any advice or comment on something like this over the Internet. However, seeing as this has apparently been problematic for a long time and you have had several contacts including for medication, something more stringent and radical seems necessary at this point.

You are describing a very typical case. It is often multiple underlying problems, further complicating each other. For example, many of these teenagers have an eating disorder as well as a personality disorder. Both of which can further lead to clinical depression that can be very subtle any difficult to correctly diagnose. Further this is complicated by a behavior problem, enforced by the natural hormonal age related development.

Suffice it to say it is a very complex and difficult situation and it demands professional 'hands-on' treatment. Many of this girls (mostly girls) will need 24/7 multi discipline treatment. Both somatic and psychological. My only advice, hence, is to seek such accommodation where she can be correctly diagnosed and brake the dangerous habits.

I guess the only thing that is certain is that the status quo will most certainly lead to disaster as you have stated, so you're going to have to try something. We have WAY less data than you do, but definitely do something.

It sounds like she's feeling pretty horrible inside, and I really hope she can find some peace soon.

Afterburn,

Rob and Livi are right. In all of this, though, don't forget about you.
Your posts provide ample proof that this is beyond us, beyond you. Remember, this is not your fault simply because your best efforts may not be enough.

I wish you well, Aft.
