Best Credit Card To Own That Gets You Actual Incentives? Your Recommendation.
Guys - I am fed-up with my Visa from US Bank. I constantly spend well over $1000 per month on monthly purchases and I get no incentives for my frequent and heavy use and also paying the balance off monthly.
So I am looking at a new Credit Card that offers a program like Air Miles, some kind of reward program etc....what do you recommend \ your experiences? Regards - Yasin

My wife loves her Discover card -- it has decent incentives.
I love my Citibank Visa - not for the incentives, but for the theft protection it offers. A few years ago, my CC number got lifted at a shady gas station. A month later, someone started racking up charges - and by the morning of the next day, Citbank called me telling me that my CC number was compromised, and that my card was shut down. They have some intelligent watcher programs that monitor CC activity and flags what is deemed inappropriate for that card. I didn't have to pay a cent for the fraudulent charges. I know most CC companies have such watcher programs in place, but I only have experience with Citibank -- that's why I recommend them. I am probably the most paranoid person about protecting my CC numbers - and even my card was compromised. Thus for me, the best incentive a CC company can offer is one that protect me against credit card theft. I'd rather be able to spend my money knowing that it is protected vs. having incentives for air/gas/etc. and not have the best protection in place. My $0.42, -Z-man.

I use American Express Blue Cash. No annual fee for this one. I get 1% cash back on all purchases, and 5% cash back on purchases at gas stations, drug stores, and supermarkets.
Got a credit on next month's bill coming for $700. Beats air miles anyday. |

Sears visa. Every $15k I spend I get a $200 gift card. For me, that's about every 3 months I get new craftsman stuff!

My mother gets cash back on her Discover. It accumulates as long as she chooses, and then she cashes out and gets a check in the mail.

I have asked some other business owners and they have never seen this, but someone used a rewards card in my restaurant and the reward came out of my checking account.
I do not remember this in the contract. Sorry that this is off topic.
