Ron Paul snaps

http://www.spikedhumor.com/articles/138887/Ron_Paul_at_South_Carolina_Debate.html

The site also claims that fox news cut out this response from the rerun of the debate. I'm going to see if i can catch the rerun, so i can find out if they really did cut it out.

lendaddy 01-13-2008 11:48 AM

What was wrong with that, he didn't snap at all.

If anything the moderator came across as a douche.

1fastredsc 01-13-2008 12:06 PM

Well maybe "snaps" was the wrong description, more like he popped his fuse at what the moderator was trying to say. And i wasn't saying this in a negative way, i actually thought it was amusing how the moderator got his clock cleaned.

CJFusco 01-13-2008 12:10 PM

I might not agree with all his political stances, but that man is a breath of fresh air.

Shaun @ Tru6 01-13-2008 12:47 PM

You might want to change the title of this thread. Paul OWNED the Fox newsboy in a huge way. I mean shut that smug little bastard down good.

I've said many times I don't like how Paul gets shrill in the debates. If he had answered every other previous question like he handled this one, he'd be the frontrunner and would be pulling votes from both sides of the isle.

Owned is a little strong, he could have drilled him into the ground but he got a little lost in his reply.

And no he would not be leading in the polls, that's silly.

Shaun @ Tru6 01-13-2008 01:02 PM

Well, given the snide, petty question and tone, I'd say he got owned. Of course it would have been nice if the Foxboi had had to answer the rhetoricals.

lendaddy 01-13-2008 01:05 PM

FWIW the question was a fair one but the wording and mocking tone was totally unprofessional.

9dreizig 01-13-2008 01:05 PM

what Shaun said +1

Don't get lost in the Fox bashing...it weakens your point, which I agree with.

Agreed, well taken. I'm just giddy after putting on a new (junkyard) tailgate on my 4Runner today and wiring up a 12-pin connector with body harness so that the gate actually works (window up/down, reverse, plate lights, etc.). Nothing like the feeling of installing junk on junk and have it actually work! :D

It is what I live for;)

You need to come south and live some...

1fastredsc 01-13-2008 03:00 PM

Go Ron Paul!

Rearden 01-13-2008 03:28 PM

The question about his support from all the conspiracy whackjobs was interesting, but I wish they'd asked him about his racist/bigoted newsletters. His answer to that one is precious ("although I was the publisher and the newsletters had my name in the title, I didn't know the contents of them.")

CJFusco 01-13-2008 07:19 PM

He wouldn't be leading in the polls. The sad, simple fact is that people vote for whatever candidates get the most/best media coverage. Obviously, that means "McCain, Romney, Huckabee, Obama, Clinton, Edwards". I call it TRL syndrome - the only way videos got on the MTV show was that TRL would show them as "hot upcoming clips". Since TRL showed them, they get votes for TRL.

I think what you meant to say was "Ron Paul - Oh Snap!"

Hugh R 01-13-2008 07:24 PM

I gotta say I do like him. But I don't know how effective he'd actually be as the president. The dems and reps would both gain up against him. He'd take their spending money away.

Shaun nailed it. Rep./Dr. Paul spanked that idiot. I'm still not committed to supporting him, but he is an important voice in the GOP, whether the party leadership accepts it or not.
