How do I read email header info
The title says it all.
I'm trying to varify the source of an email. I'm using outlook '07 as email client. |
You can READ the header info, but that won't necessarily let you verify it. It could have been forged, sent through some spam botnets that do trickery on it, through a bunch of open SMTP relays, etc etc etc.
Are you asking how to interpret what you're reading, or how to view it? I don't remember exactly how to do it in OE2k07, but I think you can right click on it (in the inbox, not where it displays the message) and go to Properties, and it should be in there somewhere. |
I just tried it with 2003, right click on the message, choose options, on this screen I get the header info at the bottom.
