A matter of style: Men's jewelry

While gold chains are the lore of Corvette/Ferrari/(and dare I say, Porsche?) enthusiasts, what jewelry to you wear/find acceptable?

Personally, I feel any man past 30 or so should only accessorize with his dignity. Chains (save for dog tags), bejewelled watches, bracelets, earrings, nose rings or piercings of any kind seem so inane.

Rings, too, save for a plain wedding band, seem foppish. Only other adornment is MAYBE a college class ring and then only if it is from a military academy or Harvard/Yale/Princeton.

What say you?

I couldn't agree more. Rings should be limited to class rings that have enough meaning that they should be worn publicly. Watches can be gold and nice enough to be noticed, but they should not have gems or diamonds on them of any kind. What kind of watch is acceptable depends on what looks good and if the man can carry it off.

Wedding band, that's it. College ring? No way. If I saw a guy with a college ring I would think hey, to each his own. (ghey) Might've been cool in the 40's. I wouldn't wear a Superbowl ring if I had one.

Wedding band and a watch - that's it.

I have several watches - change them depending upon my mood and what I'm doing.

The nearest thing to jewelry I wear is my airport security badge. Oh wait a minute.....my belt has a buckle. simple buckle, but it's shiny metal. Does that count?

Wedding band and a simple but still nice watch. I can't stand bling watches. Equally bad is a guy in a suit or out somewhere fancy wearing a $35 plastic digital watch. I don't know if I could a guy seriously if he was wearing a class ring.

A wedding ring and a watch. (Just a Seiko Titanium my wife gave me.) And I take those off as soon as I get home from work.

I find anything more to be "look at me".

Wore a wedding ring at one time. Divorce took care of that. At work I will wear a nice simple watch sometimes. Currently only wearing the St. Christopher pendant and chain my girlfriend gave to me the day I left for Iraq.
Other than that, i have never been into the whole jewlery thing.

Men and earrings have gone over the top. Studs bigger than 5ct. most likely man made and now the kids are putting buttons in their ears-or whatever the PC name for it is.

Me? I'll have to hide my Las Vegas collection of 18ct gold and diamond pinky rings...
...but, I am looking for the new Tie Ring some anouncer had on.

Simple watch and wedding band. I've never had an ear ring and I've never owned a necklace.
