Museum of Fine Arts in Boston might be interested in displaying those - they're huge on impressionist works, including having several others by Wiles in their collection.

Have you obtained these or have you sold? If you own them, that might be a nice thing to do while you're "holding" them.

The top one sold in 2007 for 71K, I own the bottom one.

Tabs, I need to post some pix of some of my art.

I like the top one better, in fact, I like it about $71,000 better. The bottom one looks like it was painted when he was drunk. I'll give you $10 for the frame however, throw in the picture and I'll give you an additional $2.00

The ones on velvet ought to be pretty.

The funny thing about painting is that in many cases the artist can do that $71K painting in less than one hour. $71K/hr not bad for a days work!

At one of the art shows I did last year, there was a really well know painter doing over 48" size works in a special after show display, he popped off something like 4 in an hour.

Man, I'd be lucky if I could finish developing 1 photo a week which could be printed in the 72"x24" size (and be crystal sharp of course).

The REALLY funny part is that the majority of the artists NEVER sees any of that kind of money! He/she is long dead before the art critics decide ..."What a genius they were! Magnificent!"

I am so glad for you, I don't even have the heart to tease you.

I really wish I could understand, Tabs. But, every time I try, my little pea brain starts hurting.

I picked up an art and antiques magazine in the hotel in Maui a few days ago and some dip$hit art dealer was advertising a painting that depicted a blue square on a white background. My head hurt very much looking at this. I'm sure it was not cheap and the irony was not lost on me.

Edit: OK the irony was lost on me. But the juxtaposition wasn't, that's for sure.

I prefer the original art I have from this artist...it's funny, and it was a gift...
