Ink Jet refills
Anyone refilling their own ink jets? I got a free cannon printer with my laptop MP-160 and just tried the refill kit, it was about 20 bucks for both color and black and refills 3 times. So far so good. The Kids can print again all they want now..:D

I've done refilling HP cartridges for about 12 years and it works great. The main things to remember are: make sure you follow the instructions exactly and, you should let the cartridge sit a while to make sure it isn't leaking. Eventually you will have to replace the cartridge but you still save a ton if you can get an extra 2-3 fills (especially with the tri-color cartridges where only one color runs out).

We have a place here that refills your cartridge. They charge $16.00 per unit. It's not as cheap as doing yourself though.

About the only issue I have with refilling is that the little holes that spray the ink onto the paper get bigger as they age and eventually the ink is too blobby. I find 2-3 refills is all that I can stand before the results are not acceptable anymore.
For this reason alone, I do not want to go with one of the servies that sells refilled ones since you do not know how many times a cartridge has been reused. |
I try and print everything either at school or at work. This way my ink cartridges at home last quite a long time :D
