Technological retards

As a follow up to this post and the comments I made about my Mother being the ultimate Techno-Tard, I have an update on her retardedness.

She has been using Earthlink for since she got her first laptop. Guess it's been two years now? Maybe three?
Dialup only, since they live out in the sticks.

She decided she wanted to get Hughes Net satellite after speaking with a neighbor who told he he had Hughes through Earthlink, same as we have Comcast Cable through Earthlink.

Great. So now my mother cast harass us fifty times faster.

But, cool nonetheless. Now she can actually update her anti virus stuff and Winblows updates without taking hours on end.

And harass us fifty time faster.

We're currently in California at a trade show. She just called.
She got her Hughes installed. She can't access her Earthlink email. Every time she tries, Outlook has a fit.

At this point, I'm pretty sure I know what happened. She's trying to access Earthlink email from a non-Earthlink service and it wants authorization.
Turns out, she didn't get "Hughes through Earthlink," she just go straight Hughes.

So now, she's got two ISP accounts, one Hughes, one Earthlink. And she'll have two bills.
I ask her why she didn't set it up through Earthlink, and she tell me "Because I didn't know they could do that"
Well...faaaHK! Didn't your neighbor tell you that's what he was doing?

So then, she starts asking about her email address, and asking if she'll still be able to use Outlook. I have to explain to her that Outlook is just the program that retrieves and send the email through the email service, and it has nothing to do with the email service itself. She doesn't understand...

Shoot me. please.:(

After 8 years suffering from my Mom-In-Laws stupid ass questions everyday, her PC crashed hard!
I convinced her to get a MAC this time and oh, I don’t know the first thing about a MAC, hooked her up with a Rent-A-MAC-Nerd, life is good now! :D

My worst call from her, “How come my email doesn’t work anymore?” WTF, like that’s the last thing I want to solve right now!

Both sets of my grandparents have had problems with their 5 disc cd changers in the last year. Every time the problem has been that they have had any where from 6-9 cds inside of them.
