Board (or indoor) Games with your Kids ?

Weather ain't so great for outdoor stuff, and I don't want the kids (8 & soon to be 6) sittin' around playing video games with all their free time, and I like to keep the "bonding" process going.

What board games or other indoor activities does anyone recommend for parents and kids. I've started playing Mastermind recently with my older son. Great game, just looking to mix it up based on other recommendations and the experiences of others. Thanks.

Spongebob Squarepants monopoly is a hit with my youngest.

New for us (boys 6 &10) electronic Monopoly (debit cards in lieu of cash and higher prices) and blockus for board games and my mom bought the boys a 5 in 1 table game which is a bigger hit of course. The oldest acts like a pool shark while the younger is king of air hockey. I never understood foosball or whatever it's called.

Texas Holdem, my son loves that game and blackjack.

Believe it not we had a family reunion in Vermont and got snowed in. Somebody had a huge jigsaw puzzle spread out on a round table and it became the favorite place to relax....all throughout the day people would stop by to chat and put it together then mosey on.

Risk and Scrabble - hours and hours of fun.

"Apples to Apples" is a good "approachable for little kids, fun for parents" board game IMHO.

Monopoly, checkers, chess... it doesn't matter as long as you're with your family, spending time with them!

My 4 y/o and I have been playing with paper airplanes for a couple of weeks. Good and cheap.

We play Sorry and Monopoly Jr. alot, as well as Risk and Scrabble.
