Insurance Question.
My car was backed into the other day and i got the guys insurance. I have gotten several quotes and all the shops tell me that you will be able to tell it has been patched so am i within my rights to try to make their insurance pay to paint the whole thing. I mean it is the original paint on a 20 y/o car.

Is this the 944 that "needs paint due to being previously unloved"? If so, it sounds like you are trying to get a free paint job out of a fender bender.

When I wrecked the 993, it needed about 60% respraying. Body shop said this was the time to do the whole thing if I planned to not track it anymore. So they made me a deal on the remainder. Insurance would not have even thought of a full respray.

well yes it is... but the paints not that bad I mean it took second in its class at a show. And if i want to show it again the whole car will have be painted due to fading and what not.

I had the rear quarter fixed on my badly faded Jetta. The body shop realized that the new paint would stand out and took it upon themselves to wet sand/buff the rest of the car. It looked 100% better and you'd never know what was new paint and what was old.

would do that but the paint is already thin in spots.
