Pelican for Trans Ams?

I have found pelican to be the best Porsche related site ever. It is useful, interesting, and full of information. That is obviously due to the amount of people on here sharing their knowledge and asking questions.

Would any of you insightful people know where I could find a similar site for Trans Ams? more specifically 2nd generations. My friends are jealous they don't have a Pelican.

Thanks!

Here ya go Jim!

LINK: http://transamcountry.com/community

I had a 75 TA when I was in my early 20's, no chicken on the hood, Silver stock look with 400, 4 Speed. My buddy had a new Camaro Z28 (still has it) and we had a blast tearing up the roads!

Looked like this, but Silver:

Nice! thanks that looks promising.

I was saving up for a 77-78 before I drove a 911. I've been saved, but I still have a soft spot for them.

Buddy of mine bought a new T/A in 1976. Watched it being unloaded off the truck. Drove it for 10,000 miles and in 1978 yanked the Pontiac 400 out and installed a 468 Olds engine built by a local drag racer here in Flint. Lot's of torque with the monster.
Neat stories to go with this:

1. He still has the same spark plugs in the engine. It STILL freakin' starts just about every time and runs excellent, even though he barely drives it anymore. Once you get the plugs cleaned out a bit, it screams!!

2. The car is black with a red interior AND it has the 8 track player he had installed just after buying it. It sounds like crap but very nostalgic.

3. The car doesn't have the bird on the hood because he was too frugal to pay $60 for the option.

4. The car has a total of about 38,000 miles on it.

Robs TA Stories:

I was living in West Edmt and a buddy from the East side asked me to go have a look at this TA for him. I was driving a 240Z at the time. I go check out the car and its two sisters that I personally knew, they had a Bricklin they drove too. Car was MINT and just gorgeous.

So I tell buddy its worth his while to take a spin out and have a look. He does and declines on the purchase; so I bought it. Had two cars for the longest time. Did all kinds of crazy things to the TA to make it rock. That car was a magnet for trouble....... I loved it.

One day, my wrench calls me and tells me the car was stolen from his shop. I suspected it was an inside job and was totally pissed off about it (no insurance theft too), so I drove to his shop and was so pissed off by the time I got there that I drove my pick-up truck right through his shop doors. Pounded the little **** before the cops got there and hauled me away. They let me off easy as the guy was a scum bag and they found my tires in his shop (which he said were on the car).

Two years later the cops call me and ask me where I want my car towed to. I got it back. Seems buddy pissed off his wife one too many times and she squealed him out to the cops. It wasn't the same car though; painted, motor flipped. I just sold it.

Memories of the TA.

One night I got a $400 speeding ticket on the way to the bar and then on the way home too. Ouch!

Great story Rob. If more of us took such decisive action, there'd probably be fewer scumbags in the world.

What is the story of the T/A which is turbo charged. I saw one on the highway once. It's body shape is much like the black one in the pic above.

Hey Speedy,
Yeah sorry I'm not familiar with that story?

I've got a photo of my actual car, I'll scan it and post it later.

Cheers,
