Introducing Lucky Bike #7

I was browsing Craigslist between posts here on OT (Yeah - I'm bored. Cabin fever) and I happened across this little gem tonight.

It was bought new by the father of the fella I bought it from. His Dad took it camping. He eventually passed on and the bike sat in his basement for a number of years - basically a bar decoration.

As you can see, it's in well preserved condition and has hardly any miles at all. It needs a couple of very minor things like a clutch lever, mirrors, and foot peg rubber-

I've always liked the Honda Trail bikes. I had a Trail 70 as a lad. But, the real reason I wanted this was for my wife. As a teenager she had an identical bike. She has told me of all the good times she had back in the day on it, so I figured I would surprise her. I think the pic tells how she feels.-

This makes vintage Honda number 7!

What a find!

Those bikes go through anything! You can even use "used" cooking oil in them. Honda really made them into tanks.

Looks like the older Post Office bikes that I see in town. Put studs into the tires and they drive like a blast in the snow and on ice!

I used one of those to carry out my very first deer. Had it on the back rack, with the legs wrapped around me and tied off to the front crash bar. And yes, it was wrapped in an orange vest.

Anyway, very cool find. Brings back a lot of memories.

Great find! If those tires are original I would replace them. They have to be hard as a rock by now.
