UN Sanctions

I guess the Media is doing comedy until the writers' strike is settled. Last week I heard a report that Dubya has asked the UN to approve sanctions against Iran. Isn't that a knee-slapper? The UN. The same organization that Dubya thwarted and dissed whenever it was convenient for him. That'd be like kicking someone in the nuts and then asking a favor.

Too funny. Even Dubya's not that stupid. Or is he?

He had to. The Coalition of the WillingTM was busy.

It's like deja vu.

It's like deja vu.

Nothing stimulates an economy like a good war.

It worked for him once, maybe he's thinking it'll work again.

Cheney trademarked his new nickname?

Heil Cheney!

To me, the comedy is paying any attention to the UN. It has become a totally irrelevant organization.

I don't doubt that, Dan. Regardless of the malfeasance accusations I've seen here, an organization like that is only as good as its members' loyalty and fidelity. That boat stopped floating when Dubya flipped them the bird.

So again, Dubya's request to the UN is just another of his decisions that leaves me scratching my head on several levels. I wonder if Dubya would be better off if he actually picked up a newspaper occasionally.....and asked someone to read it to him.
