I have gotten to the point where I detest all politics/politicians. All the campaign promises, posturing, etc. I don’t trust any of the SOB’s to do what they say they will once they get elected. Mark me down as a certified cynic…so be it.

So John Edwards will be speaking in Missouri today, about an hours drive (should I want to go see him in person rather than on a TV screen).
Ummmm ….no thanks.

But his visit (that close) got me thinking …and I cannot think of ONE person running for POTUS that I would walk across the street to see/listen to.

Perhaps if they were giving away free donuts …but I‘d probably just wander over, get a couple and leave before the speeches started.

Anyone here have a crushing desire to see any of these clowns in person and shake their hand? Will that seal the deal for you if they look you in the eye and ask for your vote?

I engaged a local guy running for some town supervisor job at the train station before my morning commute. I started peppering him with questions, and it was quite apparent, I was in the way of him shaking hands with everyone else. They ought to just give high fives in the middle of the speech like bands do....it's about as sincere.

I sat next to him in the Senate barber shop once. His hair is pretty scary in person.

Actually I wouldn't mind meeting Hilary. Would be fun to ask her if she really does like women or not.

Otherwise I would rather they stay out of town. They screw up traffic when they come anyway.

Surely you jest. Actually, anyone can get their hair cut at the Senate barber shop. You don't even have to be staff. They're cheap, very good, old school type and you usually see some Senators there. Obviously Senators get priority when there are votes going on. But it's an excellent barber shop. I think in all the times I've been there, I sat next to Chris Dodd, Biden, Phil Gramm, Paul Simon and even Strom Thurmond. Plenty of others I forget. House side has a good one too.
