8 Gig iphone

Just bought a 8 gig iphone. I had a Motorola Q but my better half snatched it.
I really didn't set out to buy a iphone. I was looking at ipods that were around $300 so I figured Id spend the extra $100 and just the the iphone. My question is I hear so much about and see others with iphones/ipods that have 100s of songs on them. I went to itunes and discovered that songs are a $1,00 a piece. How do I put this.... I know these people are downloading these songs for free (ie stealing). How is this possible when itunes charges you more than it would cost than if you just went out and bought the CD?

I have not opened the box yet as I have a 14 day money back guarantee.

Also, most albums are $9.95 or less on iTunes.

Yeah I just browsed for a bit. Allot of music I like wasn't available on napster. So I wonder about itunes. Awful question but I hear theres a website called Kazaaa or something. There is supposed to be endless free music on this site. Enough to where you could load a iphone up with several thousands of dollars in free music. Is this true?

If you buy the whole album it is cheaper through itunes than buying a cd in the store. All cd's you currently own can be loaded into itunes on your comp and then transfered onto your phone.

I have a 20gb ipod with about 10 gb of music, i bought about 6 songs so far from itunes and 1 album, the rest has been transfered from my cds.

Sure. Any number of free sites or p2p applications for sharing music.

So what do you do for a living? Can people download your work product for free so you don't get paid?

Obviously millions of people steal music. With a number of rationalizations. But it is just that imho. Stealing. ymmv.

I hear what your saying and I know its wrong. But all I want is bootleg stuff like tool concerts ect. The musicians are never going to release that stuff anyway and Ive bought all their CDs in some cases twice lol.

Rip those suckers into your computer! And take the phone out of the box and start using it. :D

The bulk of my iPod/iPhone music is from my CD collection. Now I just buy new albums from iTunes and sometimes from Amazon.

FWIW.

Best,

Kurt
