WHOLY CRAP!
Do you think it's smoke and mirrors? I wonder how it would work if you rammed the hot dog at it like most people would their hands... If it's for real, and works as advertised, and cheap, could have something there. |
That's simply amazing.

What I wonder about is how much it costs to get it running again after an accident. Obviously, you'd want to replace the blade and the brake, but what about the other crap. I would think that stopping that fast would be bad for the motor, etc....
I'm sure it's not cheap to purchase initially, and if it costs a couple hundred bucks to get running again after an accident..... Still, better than missing body parts, but how many folks would be willing to pony up? |
$2800 for the whole thing w/standard motor.
$90 for brake pad http://www.sawstop.com/products-cabinet-saw-pricing.htm |
Not too good at cutting weenies though.

I would rather buck up and pay to repair or replace the saw then lose a body part.

Saw the site (yuk, yuk, yuk) and that's unreal. It should be mandatory in all shop classes in high school. It is pretty pricey, but think of all the hot dogs you'll save.

Cool, that would have saved me a trip to the ER before Christmas. I decided to see how well my table saw could remove a finger--actually I got lucky and cut straight down my finger and not across. Basically took a 1/8 inch chunk out of the middle of my finger to the first joint. Yes, I left some blood on the saw as a reminder of why you should use the right tool for the right job. I was in a hurry and the table saw was already set up, plus I had made cuts like that many times before and never gotten bit. Live and learn.
