Yeah, I realized that you were paraphrasing someone...I couldn't recall that it was Garner right at that time. Actually his quote made a book (The 2548 Best Things Ever Said) of quotes I have and they listed it as:
"The vice-presidency ain't worth a pitcher of warm spit."
