Do you ever get a song stuck in your head?

With my fourth kid closing in on three years old, watching tele has become more interesting and she loves everything Disney from the good old times. We have watched Aristocats, Snowhite etc etc etc dozens of times.

And I love it! Those old Disney movies are still very enjoyable for an adult. Good guys and bad guys, all very clear cut. Romance and humor. Good ethics and moral.

I have so many lines from those films in my head. Me and a fellow doc at work actually agreed that for every event in real life there is a corresponding and useful phrase from a Disney movie.

And the songs. Beautiful! I have had many going in my head, starting to humming them over and over during the days.

The latest song part stuck in my head is precisely from Aristocats. In the sequence where the wild cat O´Malley first happens upon Dutchess and her three kittens lost in the night after the expedient equivalent of a catnapping by Edgar (Creme de la creme a la Edgar) the butler.

O´Malley sings:

Abraham de Lacey, Giuseppe Casey, Thomas O´Malley...di di-di di ect etc. Wonderful tune - and it is completely stuck in my head since a week. Earlier today at the job, I surprised myself starting to sing it while examining a five year old with asthma and even more surprising (despite her having difficulties breathing) she started to sing with me. Surplus info that her parents where coming apart on the floor, laughing.

Probably alot better than all the crap I put in my head watching the entire Sapprano series over Christmas break?

With 4 daughters, my place is 'chick flick' city. OMG! I always ask, "does someone die in the movie, if not, I'm not interested in watching it" Ha, Ha.

My kids use to love Mary Kate & Ashley.

Cheers buddy

Constantly have a song in my head. Right now it's "Stranger In A Strange Land" by Iron Maiden.

The songs don't bother me.

It's the voices.

Heard Nickleback's "Rock Star" for the second time the other evening. It was bugging me so bad I had to head to Chordie, pull up the chords and lyrics then transpose it to a key I could sing. (Sort of like a newer version of "Cover Of The Rolling Stone". By the way, I remember when Dr. Hook and the boys achieved their dream!)

That's usually what I do if something is stuck in the playback loop in my head: get out the guitar and see if I can figure it out. I've learned more weird ***** that way.

I'll put that one on my list of 'to see', thanks Joel.

Look at the people in the crowd watching Amy Winehouse performing! (vid posted by Mule)
Man, I shoulda been a rock star, but NO, NO, NO.

Like the boys say, "Money for nothing and your chicks for free"

From Livi, I thought this was going to be one of those Disney for Swede's things, like "Rarnaby Budge" by Charles Dikkens. That's Dikkens with two Ks, the well-known Dutch author. Or "Knickerless Knickleby" by Edmund Wells?

Sorry, I've never been to Sweden just heard the stories.

Ten years man, i hated that work
Then I made a break with the money i saved
It took me to the beach to have a beer by the edge of the sea
And this 'round a clock place
I drank my money away
We partied
Seven to three
Three to eleven
Eleven to seven

"Shut Up And Drive"

[Verse 1]
I've been looking for a driver who's qualified
So if you think that you're the one step into my ride
I'm a fine-tuned supersonic speed machine
With a sunroof top and a gangster lean

[Bridge]
So if you feel me let me know, know, know
Come on now what you waiting for, for, for
My engine's ready to explode, explode, explode
So start me up and watch me go, go, go, go

[Chorus]
Got you where you wanna go if you know what i mean
Got a ride that smoother than a limosine
Can you handle the curves? Can you run all the lights?
If you can baby boy then we can go all night

Cos I'm 0 to 60 in three point five
Baby you got the keys-

Now shut up and drive
(drive, drive, drive)

Shut up and drive
(drive, drive, drive)

[Verse 2]
I got class like a 57 cadillac
Got all the drive but a whole lot of boom in the back
You look like you can handle whats under my hood
You keep saying that you will boy I wish you would

[Bridge]
So if you feel me let me know, know, know
Come on now what you waiting for, for, for
My engine's ready to explode, explode, explode
So start me up and watch me go, go, go, go

[Chorus]
Got you where you wanna go if you know what i mean
Got a ride that smoother than a limosine
Can you handle the curves? Can you run all the lights?
If you can baby boy then we can go all night

Cos I'm 0 to 60 in three point five
Baby you got the keys-

Now shut up and drive
(drive, drive, drive)

Shut up and drive
(drive, drive, drive)

Cos you play the game, got what I got (Get it Get it)
Don't Stop It's a sure shot
Aint no ferrari huh boy I'm sorry
I ain't even worried
So step inside and ride
(ride, ride, ride, ride, ride...)

[Bridge]
So if you feel me let me know, know, know
Come on now what you waiting for, for, for
My engine's ready to explode, explode, explode
So start me up and watch me go, go, go, go

[Chorus]
Got you where you wanna go if you know what i mean
Got a ride that smoother than a limosine
Can you handle the curves? Can you run all the lights?
If you can baby boy then we can go all night

Cos I'm 0 to 60 in three point five
Baby you got the keys-

Now shut up and drive
(drive, drive, drive)

Shut up and drive
(drive, drive, drive)

Now shut up and drive
(drive, drive, drive)

Shut up and drive
(drive, drive, drive)
