Suggestions for a TV
I'm looking to replace the 20 yr old TV to watch news, regular broadcasts on cable, and an occasional movie on VHS or DVD.
Don't watch movies on DVD much (not interested in hi def) Prefer 4:3 ratio (more picture on the screen and don't care about wide format). No interest in home theater. I'm looking at a Samsung 27" tube TV. It has normal inputs (without HDMI). It has analog and Digital receivers and is fairly cheap. I figure there's no reason to spend a ton of money to have HDMI inputs and hi def. Am I missing something?

HiDef will be mandatory in 2 years or something like that. May as well get it now.

I think it's just analog broadcasting that's going away in 2009. Snoop around here:

Come on man....do seriously want to sink $$$ into a tube TV? Check prices for the smaller, non-highdef models. They have come way down.
That being said, I think it would be foolish to invest in a TV that was not 1080p at this point. |

1972 Zenith; period correct if you have the venerable '72 911.
