Suburban Diesel with 253,000 miles anyone?
I am looking for a late 90's Suburban diesel. Found one with 230,000 on the clock that interests me but it is 8 hours away. Would the high miles scare you? Would you use Kelley's Blue Book as a good guide for price. KBB states it is worth about $4500.00.
I have had three Blazers and Burbs with the 6.2 liter Diesel that were running well when sold with 200k plus but I don't know about the newer turbo's and their life span. Thanks, Ben

I have a 6.5t in my truck, only ~140k though. Lots of info about the 'issues' of the 6.5. PMD, heads crack.... There are fixes though, so dont worry about it. It's cheap to work on, unless it needs a new injection pump.
Not a lot of power though, especially compared to a Cummins. If it were me I'd get a small block in a burb. You know they last forever and if it craps out long blocks are dirt cheap. |
