Sad news about Paul Frere - but what a life he had.

Hey Ury- That fire truck you showed. My uncle drives one very similar and has taken me on a morning test drive down the ramp and WOW. Everything is controlled in cab. It has a foam gun on the roof and bumper (both remote controlled). All the tires can be inflated and deflated from in the cab and the thing will do like 80. Oh ya and if he gets enough air in the tires it will cross shallow streams and ponds.

My older brothers' (they are twins) 57 Chevy circa 1968 So Cal. 327 'Vette engine - hell on wheels.

They put in $400 each and my old man added $400. They about killed one another over whose turn it was to take the car out. As I've gotten older I have often wondered if the old man did it to them as a prank - for having to put up with them for 16 years.

Supposedly one indicator of a real Hertz 350 is to pull the carpet in the back and look for weld marks.

Guys used to rent em on Friday, weld cages in, race em for the weekend, then pull the cage and return them on Monday.
