New boot & knob. This 1lb beast is a bit shorter then oem, so I'll prolly make a black spacer to fill the gap.

Lost Cars of the 1980s – Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2 | Hemmings Daily

By the mid-1980s, GM was growing tired of conceding high-speed oval races to the aerodynamically superior Ford Thunderbird. In response, both Chevrolet and Pontiac went back to the drawing board, independently, to produce a G-body coupe with improved high-speed stability. On the Pontiac side of the business, the result was the 1986 Grand Prix 2+2, a car that should have been treasured for its exclusivity and NASCAR tie-in, yet never really managed to find an audience. - See more at: http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2014/03/03/lost-cars-of-the-1980s-pontiac-grand-prix-22/#sthash.uvD0YQ5l.dpuf

Mercedes-Benz just finished a 2.5 year restoration of this one-off 504 K Streamliner - shot in a wind tunnel in a nod to the remarkably aerodynamic design for a car made in 1938............................

The streamliner was not just a beautiful design, rather it was a highly functional reflection of the knowledge that Mercedes-Benz had gained in their research into aerodynamic flow. A standard version of the 540 K had a Cd of 0.57 resulting in a top speed of 140-145km/h - the Streamliner however slashed that figure to just 0.36 and as a result lifted the top speed to around 165-170km/h - a real feat for the era. The autobahns, which were new at the time, offered the ideal conditions for testing. The rather special 540 K was often employed on long-distance runs, for example to Berlin or Hamburg and back, sometimes at night, as Gerd Hammes, the son of Dunlop’s garage foreman, remembers.

Saab 92 was an automobile from Saab. The design was very aerodynamic for its time, and the cW value (drag coefficient) was 0.30 (the same as a Porsche 996 and better than the Ferrari F40).

Two views of the 2006 BMW Mille Miglia Concept Coupe. This was inspired by the streamlined racing cars pictured above. I think it is very nicely done. Well, I have a few quibbles such as the lack of doors, but this is a show car, after all, so details that do not affect the overall design can be excused. The front seems to be mostly inspired by the Touring Coupe, while the rest of the design is derived from the Kamm Coupe.

The rapid advancement of Funny Car technology is evident in this midseason mismatch of Lew Arrington’s all-Pontiac, automatic-equipped GTO, a top contender just one year earlier, with Jack Chrisman’s tube-chassised, 426-powered, high-gear-only Comet roadster.

Thrust for the all-wheel-drive Saab Aero X also comes from a powerplant with a difference. The 400-hp, twin-turbo, BioPower V6 engine is fueled entirely by ethanol, a sustainable energy source that is kinder to the environment by cutting fossil CO2 emissions. The "green power" of this advanced engine gives new meaning to the phrase "performance with responsibility."
