Douglas was one of many companies to build in the USSR-Ford was the first auto maker, Model A was the GAZ. Practically nothing the Soviets had or built from 1917 on was indigenous. Sikorsky fled in 1919. But business/trading concessions in oil, refineries, mining, electric, chemical, aviation, pretty much everything came from the West(US, UK, Germany, Italy, Sweden and a few others) GE and Metropolitan Vickers electrified the country.
Her's the Douglas DC3 Soviet licensed LISUNOV Li-2 and built there: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1492283667.jpg |
