If you look closely at that 'Superbird' - you'll notice it's a 3/4 scale version, probably carbon fiber -since it's a 1-off, I'd hate to think what the cost was......

Yup, it's carbon fiber. ProMod class - which to me is the coolest class in drag racing. Lot's of creativity. Some are supercharged, some turbo, some nitrous. It's akin to the original Funny Car class in the 60s. They were running 213MPH in the 1/8 mile this weekend :eek::eek: 5.4 @ 270+ in the 1/4. They are a hoot to watch. More from this weekend:

I had one. It was a 1980 wagon that I bought brand new. That car was as reliable as an anvil, and it went through anything (meaning deep snow and springtime mud). That is, until it broke a piston at 117,000 miles. After it was fixed it continued to run great.
