http://lh4.ggpht.com/_8mgirdLNhIo/TL...er21vC-730.jpg given these images, can someone tell me if only the front rotor can be pitched forwards and the rear remain upright? |
afaik, real helicopters do not pitch their rotor disk.
Pitch links rotate on the swash plate to change the angle of attack on the blades as they pass the appropriate point. http://www.chinook-helicopter.com/st...tor_head_2.jpg Boeing CH-47D Chinook - The Rotor Blade. |
|
Sorry, so whats happening in the first photo, or does that mean the rotation is always pitched forwards to avoid collision as well as the gearing between the canopies
|
The front rotor is mounted at an angle relative to the rear rotor, but I'm not sure the reason for this. I *think* it has to do with forward flight performance.

Ah yes...the rare VW-Bugatti. Please tell me that it doesn't have Model A Ford wheels.

I always thought one of those VW Bugatti kits would make a cool rat rod!
