That is an early one maybe the prototype? No jets. Use to take hours to start up and shut down.

By my count, it's 560 plugs for the pair. And an old timer told me that back in the day they were a buck a piece. What's that make a tune up in today's dollars???

More abandoned hulls to add to our gallery of derelict cars - pics taken today about 4 kms from my house (in Greater Vancouver area).

I understand these shells have been here for a number of years. This may not be the appropriate thread in which to say this, but I shall endeavour to find out who owns them as they may be of some use to someone locally, if for nothing more than salvage.
Cheers
JB

It's 480 plugs. B-29 had 18 cyl R-3350 2 plugs per cyl. B-36 had $-4360 28 cyl 2 plugs per cyl.
The math is 18x2x4 + 28x2x6 = 480.

My info must be wrong - I understood that most of the B-29's also had the 28 cyl engines.

I wasn't sure either. Had to look this up as well(being wiki dependant).
Wikipedia-> "B29"-> edit/find on page "engine"-> wiki link-> Wright R-3350 Duplex-Cyclone - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
