When I was about that age I told my dad I was going to start saving now so I could buy a Ferrari 308 when I was old enough. He just laughed at me and said something discouraging. What kind of parent doesn't encourage their kid to save? If my kid does that I'll say "Sounds great!" because you know by the time he turns 18 he'll be onto something else, perhaps college
