Tracing a U.S. patent

Is there a way to find out if a patent was issued for something that was done while you worked for a company?

http://patft.uspto.gov/netahtml/PTO/search-adv.htm

And do a search by AN/yourcompany

I did not have any luck with the search.
I think I need more information for the search, I just don't know were to find it.

I think that's what patent attorneys do and make a lot of money doing it.

I was able to find one of my dads patents #4823510.

I was told that when he worked for Burlington Industries back in the 60's he came up with a way to lubricate a loom without taking it apart. My uncle said that Burlington received a patent for what ever it was that he did.
I do not know and dad passed away about 13 years ago.

You can querry the patent office website. You may have to think of all the various ways it could be titled or discribed.

Or do a search for the owner of the patent. Either some of your former colleagues on that company or the company it self or subsidiaries. Likewise, as Mike say, search for probable name of the device or function.
