The Last Bottle

Tonight I finished the last bottle in a case of Chivas Regal that I bought in 1982. Some of U older CA boyz might remember a discount department store by the name of Fedmart. When they were going out of business I stocked up in their liqour department. At the time Chivas was going for $12 a bottle and with a 10% discount it was a deal. I still have 4 or 5 bottles of Barcardi 151 and a bottle of Wild Turkey left.

When Fedco went under in SO CA in the late 90's I hit their liqour department with a vengence as well. Only that time it was McCallums 18 yr old and Remy XO among a whole olt of other stuff that I walked out with.

Hee hee, if my GF was visiting Vegas I'd put you two in touch for a whiskey drinking session. She lived for many years in Scotland and knows and loves her single malt whiskeys.

Edit: She says her favorite one is Talisker from the Isle of Skye.

You still have 4 of 5 bottles of Turkey left over from 1982? You sir have a drinking problem. I know a few friends that could clean you out in a...night.

It's just a blended Scotch, not even a single malt...

Nothing wrong with a good blend.

True, I like Ballantines. Never have been much on Chivas though.

The reason I still had that bottle was that I avoided having friends like her over.

No that is the reason why I hide the liqour when I know Mother is on her way...once she has a coupla Gin and Tonics down her gullet all he11 breaks loose.

My taste buds never could figure out whiskey. I have eagerly tried to like it for two decades but no cigar. Maybe that is the trick - you need a cigar to go with it.
