How about a Saab 9-5 with 140K?
In my quest for a replacement for my Jetta I present: http://www.findcars.com/a.php3?q=240852
Feel free to pick it apart. I haven't seen it in person. |
Saabs are great cars, my '93 Aero has 225k and still runs like new. However, the first few years of the 9-3 and 9-5 all suffered from engine sludge, mainly due to an innefective PCV system and extended oil change intervals. Older Saabs suffered from notoriously weak automatics, I'm not sure if the 9-5 resolved this issue or not. Ask if the heated seats work, my guess is they will not. The low pressure turbo motor with an autobox is a slow combination.
So, unless there's record of engine replacement, I'd have it inspected for sludge issues. If the heated seats are dead, plan on taking them apart to replace the element ($120-ish). If properly taken care of, they will last a long time, and have a unique endearing charm to them. However, for a few thousand more you could pick up a 250 HP 9-5 Aero, a genuinely fun car to drive. |
