I am telling you the Jeep Cherokee not the grand or gran or what ever the plain old Cherokee with the 4.0 6. Its runs for freaking ever and you can get em cheap. Mine has 140k miles on it and it runs like a champ. The AC blows ICE COLD and the heat cranks. My wife in a fit of rage yanked the center console off. It was a snap to find one on ebay for a couple bucks. MPG is the only draw back, some of the newer SUV's will get better MPG. I cant even remember the last time I washed it and it spends every night out in the driveway and never complains. A couple fuel pumps, a power steering pump and a new(ish) cat are all thats in my folder on it for the last 5 years. I picked a used cat out at the junk yard. Ive never even had to recharge the AC. Bought the thing in 01 with 53k miles on it.

YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG WITH ONE OF THESE. A quick look on eBay shows dozens of ones with 60 to 90k miles for 5, 6 or 7k tops.

Hyundai Santa Fe

Although they don't hold their value all that well ( hence cheap ) they are pretty bullet proof .

Wife loves hers and they're easy to work on .

PS Say away from Toyota Rav-4s .

Engines are junk .

A number of class action lawsuits against them .
