My Dinner with Tabs

Stuck at the airport in Vegas now, high winds, everything is grounded. Had dinner with Tabs last night at the Bellagio buffet. This is now my third dinner with the man. Some notes: The Wynn buffet is far superior, yet the Bellagio does have some high points here and there. In the past, I did fairly well against the Master Buffeter. Last night, not so much. I'll be in training for next year. Conversation with Tabs is always the high point of the evening, above the crab legs, sushi, prime rib and lamb chops. His brilliance can at times be lost in the give and take of posting here, but in person, it is non-negotiable and always enlightening and entertaining. Thanks again for a good night Tabs.

I was in Vegas, but dared not reach out and ask Tabs to dinner. They have some pretty big staircases out there..

Wish that Fintstone had not moved out of LV. I used to get there often on business and have dinner with Tabs, Stoney and Jordi. Very good time and excellent discussions, not to mention a spoon or three. Now I get there late on one day and have to leave a 0700 the next day, so not much time to meet with these guys!

The only thing you have to be carefull about is not getting between me and the food. Have you ever seen what a person looks like after a herd of elephants runs over them. SQUASHED...Well thats the image you should keep in mind.

It would not be "spooning with Tabs" as much as spooning with a spoon.

 Who knew?

Oddly enough, Tabs was actually discussed, or at least foreshadowed, by Louis Malle. Tim

Great post Tim, funny and fitting. "You're OK, Hang in there" Hey Chris, just pulling your leg buddy. Sorry if I offended you by the reference to Tabs? I'm gonna plan a trip to Vegas and Look up Tabs, Tabs, you interested? I'll bring you a spoon from Salmon Arm.

Hey, don't worry about it. I don't offend easily. I'm just curious how other people percieve me based on my on-line persona. (It's a heck of a lot like my in-person persona--I think.)

Hey Buddy, I hear ya there! I love to test the waters meself now and again. Interesting thing though; I don't usually get any real reactions one way or the other? Unless of course its on the GOD threads? I don't know you personally Chris, but you are one of the best posters on this board imo. Now go snatch a kiss or visa versa.

Everytime I have met with the Great Tabdula, there was a lot of forking going on. The buffet lost every time and we were in awe of the "buffet master" at his chosen profession.
