New Toilet?

With a house full of teenagers now, whats the best toilet? I am not looking to spend 500 bucks, best suck for the buck?

frogger 02-19-2008 10:34 AM

It probably needs to block cell phone signals to keep from forming a bathroom logjam.

stomachmonkey 02-19-2008 10:57 AM

Convert an old bathtub.

Put in urinals.

It will ensure the men don't linger in the bathroom and the women don't hang out there.

cgarr 02-19-2008 11:01 AM

If it was just me I'd just do the urinal, I haven't had a solid stool in over 20 years!

frogger 02-19-2008 11:02 AM

too much information!

I bought an american standard champion 4 toilet about 6 months ago, you can't clog that thing.
Price was around $240 at home depot.
The website http://www.americanstandard-us.com/Tools/BestFlush/default.aspx

Shows then flushing 18 golf balls at once, 40 feet of TP, and 38 rubber hoses. click on flushing system in action for the video.

Toto is taking over.

I don't get it, when I lived in Japan, I had a hole in the floor and flies...

This thread is going places, I can just smell it.

I'm pretty sure Slo-Daves landlord has a toilet for sale?

I put in Sterling dual flush; but too little water in the bowls for my liking.

I know you said cheaper but here's another vote for Toto. I JUSt finishedremodeling my bathroom and went with a toto (can't remember the model as I write this). Probably one of their lower models since it is not tankless, not wall mounted and not a low-boy. It is not even skirted but it did have one of the highest ratings I found on an internet webiste that tests their flushing ability (yeah, I was surprised that even THAT is tested). It flushed like a champ with only the 1.6 gallons per flush mandated. I paid $550 off the internet. It arrived in pieces. No problemo, they sent me a new one before they got the broken one back! I was impressed.

Another vote for Toto. We just replaced all the toilets in our house and are very happy with them. Didn't think the price was unreasonable either.

Komenda Fan 02-19-2008 03:47 PM

Yep, I'd vote Toto. Now if you can get the Toto warmlet, that's the way to go. I never had it so good as when I was living in Japan and the seat was heated. Life seems so primitive now without it.
