Risks using Western Union to receive Ebay Payment
I have an International buyer who cannot use Paypal. He wants to use Western Union. Are there any risks that I should be aware of?
Thanks |
HUGE risks, that's a typical scam ploy,, NO WAY would I ever use Western Union.
How much money are we talking about ? and what country ? |
Belarus. Just for my own education, If it pays out in cash, how am I at risk?
|
If you are receiving the cash, you are fine, IMO.
It's the sender who is at great risk with WU as there is no recourse. As long as they pay the fee, then I would accept a WU, but prefer PayPal first for int'l buyers. The only problem with receiving WU is giving out your personal data, but I think you can get by with Name, City, State and Country as a receiver. Best, Kurt |
Really? How? I have done several in the $thousands. Get your cash at WU outlet (my local Grocery store) then send the goods.

OOps I stand corrected, I was thinking of sending money,, I'd ask Western Union what the risks are.. For instance, if they pay WU with a bank money order and it turns out to be forged do they come after you ??

I used escrow.com for a large EBay purchase. Great way to protect buyer and seller.
