Factory tour in March
I’m leaving for Paris in a couple of weeks. I’m thinking of making a short trip to Stuttgart while I’m there. I called the factory today and made reservations (10:00AM) for a factory tour (I also want to see the Mercedes museum while I’m there). Question now is how to get from Paris to Stuttgart? (I know there is an airport in Stuttgart) I’m looking for a quick efficient way. Anyone know how to get a cheap flight out of Paris – (I think it only takes an hour).
I hesitate to book anything now since the factory had to stop production due to a recent gas explosion – I’m hoping they will open the tours up in a couple of weeks, so far all tours have been cancelled. |

Fun tour, well worth doing.
Go to www.raileurope.com I see a non-stop Paris to Stuttgart, 3 hrs 39 minutes, $75 You'd have to go in the night before. Given air travel in Europe, I don't think you should plan on a morning flight to get to a 10am tour appointment.

Great, I found a nice round trip schedule. How long does the tour take? I'm looking at a return trip at 7:00PM the same day.
Can someone recommend a hotel in Stuttgart? Last edited by Palum6o; 02-25-2008 at 10:56 AM.. |

Maybe not
This morning. http://www.autobild.de/artikel/explosion-im-porsche-werk_585052.html Looks like the paint works blew up. Sprinklers went off and flooded the place. 2 in the hospital.
