One of my projects when I make enough to retire to my little workshop/lab is a way to control the fracture of glass/crystal.
Imagine a cube of solid glass, you can "architect" "control" fracture lines inside the the cube that are the equivalent of a processors gates. Instead of current you can now use light. If someone comes up with a better gate design you just hit a button to "melt" your cube then run the new fracture schema on it and voila, upgraded processor without having to replace anything. Low power, literally the speed of light, low heat signature. That's the "basic" concept. |
