Anybody here based in japan? interested in export?
Is anyone here based in Japan or spend any time there on a regular basis?
I am interested in importing a container of used diesel engines/transmissions for Toyota trucks, cars, and Isuzu trucks. Four cylinder turbo diesels primarily- Any contacts or websites that might be able to provide prices for the used engines and of course someone Japan based that would be interested in doing some engine wrangling for profit. My reason for the interest is I am interested in doing a diesel conversion on a couple of vehicles and have found that there really isn't anyone in the states who is bringing these types of engines into the states in quantities. Thus the prices for the few one can find are criminal and that led to thinking that I had found a need that could be met. Thanks, Jeff |

Hopefully someone from the board isn't going to take the idea and make it theirs. Good luck, I love to hear of enterprising folks being creative and benefitting. I just wish I had a mind that thought like that.

if someone from the board takes the idea thats fine but you would have to know which engines specifically are good for the conversions and one would also have to have contacts for the best places to advertise said engines which is fairly obscure.
On the flip side, if someone had all this knowledge than why have they not done it already?, and if they are going to do it than let me know so I can buy a few engines for an un criminal rate.

lolo, I live in Sapporo
 Been here 15 years  I have connections to lots of folks who sell used and do mechanics. One guy is almost a Nissan guru for GTRs .... Diesel parts ... Cars in general are getting hard as hell to get your hands on. Sites don't even really list diesel mileage ... I could only find states on the HiluxSurf (errr, 4 runner). I'll pm you.
