E-spammers working overtime !
I logged on to my e-mail account this morning XXXXX@KevinP73.com only to find 712 e-mails. Normally I have about four or five. They are almost all from the typical "Mailer Demon " or Delivery Failure bs. I deleted all of them but they continue to flood in at four or five per minute. Anyone else getting this? What can I do to stop this from continuing?

I've been getting a bit more SPAM than usual lately, too.
SPAM firewalls. |
Quote:
They should be able to block/blacklist the ip range of the offending server It could also be a hijacked account Someones email server being used as a spam relay Again your ISP should be able ot block it |
Could also be a Joe Job... (someone used your domain info to send spam, and you are geting the bounces, etc from it). May want to look into setting up SPF records in your DNS to help prevent it...

It's staggering. In the last week I've gotten about 1,200 spams on my personal accounts (I use T-bird to check them) - mostly Viagra and Cialis junk mails. It's really absurd. In the same time, I've gotten a grand total of (get this) FOUR valid/legitimate e-mails to those particular accounts (these are the ones that only family & close friends use to contact me). That's a ratio of 400 spams for every legitimate e-mail. A 40,000% increase in bandwith usage over what is required for legitimate use.
Hell has a special place for spammers. Frankly if someone wanted to sidestep some of the "due process" laws for these people, I wouldn't object. |
Same here. Just put several of them on my blocker at the ISP and that helped.
Hope that there is a special place in Hell for spammers! |
get a gmail account and filter through there

Get rid of all the XXXXXXXX's in your email address.
Made ya laugh, right? |
