Verdict for the movie: Just OK. I kept waiting for something to happen . . .

But the longhood was nice to see.

I snapped the pics the way the scene plays. No credits for it. New York plate. Love the umbrella holding up the trunk lid . . .

Just saw that movie yesterday - I really liked it. I think Wes Anderson has some father-son issues to work out (Rushmore, Royal Tennenbaums, Life Aquatic)...

Gorgeous car, too.

So how did the 911 figure in that scene or the plot of the movie?

*******SPOILER*******

Out of nowhere, the boys have a flashback. They are picking their deceased father's car up at Luftwaffe Motors in NYC. It isn't ready - waiting for parts - so they try to jump start it & it just backfires. Then they try to push start it, but the tow driver almost T-bones them. Then they pust it back in & cover it. And the rest of the movie had about the same level of excitement. Beautifully filmed & good acting with a lot of subtle humor but . . .
