I saw this on VWvortex and had to share it...

Personally I think this is great news for the show. He looks like a genuine car guy. Has an RS replica and Grassroots Motorsports love him: http://www.grmotorsports.com/backissues/2004-7-november-issue/adam-carolla/

Wow..interesting! The 200hp engine in his 510 (that he is sitting on), I built it and sold it to him when he was restoring that car a few years back.

So very cool.

Oh Haha 03-01-2008 06:07 AM

plus he wears old school Pumas!!!:)

Seriously, he seems to be a genuine car guy and has a great sense of humor. I hope they don't Americanise the show too much.

I thinks its a good fit, I wonder who they will team him up with?

I saw a 510 with an S2000 drivetrain and dash, pretty cool.
I had a friend back in the day with one of those, it was a hoot but he could not drive it worth a damn. His car would pull some pretty impressive lateral G's with those big wide Dunlops, but I would run over his ass in the corners in my Super Beetle.

Jimmy Kimmel was good with him on that one show

He had a sort of home renovation show a year or so ago. Has a buttload of great cars, and for the most part, they're tweaked pretty hard. Funny guy. Great choice to host.

KaptKaos 03-01-2008 07:09 AM

I hope he doesn't puss out .

Scott R 03-01-2008 07:13 AM

What does the guy do for money that he has all of these great cars? I remember the Man Show, and love line.... But nothing recent.

KaptKaos 03-01-2008 07:45 AM

He took over for Stern in morning drive on 97.1 in LA.

scottmandue 03-01-2008 07:52 AM

Anyone who races a 510 is OK with me!

To be brutally honest I don't find him all that funny... but that is mostly because I didn't find the shows he was on all that funny.

But maybe that is a good thing, a dry sarcastic wit would mimic the Brit version better anyway.

I'll give the show a chance, what network is it going to be on?

KevinP73 03-01-2008 07:56 AM

He has a morning radio show here in L.A.. Frankly he's a little too juvenile (read immature) for my taste and his nasal twangy voice is just too much to listen to.

His main source of income (other than Jimmy Kimmels main biotch is real estate developer here in L.A.)

Your point is what?

berettafan 03-01-2008 08:39 AM

not excited. just can't get into the whole 'knuckledraggers doing coffee shops' crowd he caters to.

agree that there is not a funny bone in his body.

BUT, i'll say if i had his money you'd find a very similar car in my driveway. Lot more soul than a nig'd up escalade or flavor of the day super-exotic.

That he was smart to invest, unlike some other stars that have just partied it all away. There was no sarcasm there.

Don Plumley 03-01-2008 08:56 AM

"Girls on Trampolines" He's a mensa genius.

I used to listen to him and Kimmel on KROQ years ago. He was always good for a laugh on Dr. Drew.

Good to know he's a car guy too. But the standard that's set by Top Gear will be hard to meet.
