They used to have a New Orleans style cafe au lait & bengeit shop. Digging for crystals is big too. So is Al Capone's room at the Arlington Hotel.

I'm no help, rarely cross I-40. Have a standing invitation to do the horse races, just haven't put it together yet.

You are only 20 minutes from Ryan "BigChillCar." Hot Springs is a cool town, but even if you go and hike all the surrounding area you get tired of the town in about 2 days.

Kurt V - well thats OK cuz we are only there for a few days. The kids will dig the crystal thing. I will have to get my Wife to one of those baths - get her all loosen up.

I should drop Bigchill a line...

Tip on the crystal thing. There's this giant mound of tailings taken out of the mine that they let you dig through for a few bucks. It's red clay so your clothes will be ruined. Don't dig. Walk to a less populated area & get off the top of the hill & walk on the side. The rain washes exposes them & it's like picking blackberrys.

Might take four hours, 200 miles of crooked road.

spent 2+ hours on 7 today - problem was I wasn't driving! It is a great road to drive but nausea sets in if your the passenger.

The kids took the duck tour with Mommy while I worked. We did have lunch at the National Cafe - best burger in town.
