EC.
I can only listen to Bob Marley when in a dimly lit, hazy dorm room. Considering that I've been out of college for going on 10 years, those days are long gone. Now I can listen to EC any time, anywhere, and even sober! |
I keep Marley handy at all times. Clapton i hear when i'm skipping past the 'classic rock' station.
Wouldn't say that Marley was a better musician....but his music does a lot for the mind. Three Little Birds, Woman No Cry....it's an endless list and the music has such soul. Though Tears in Heaven is the definition of soul in music. |
And you don't need pot to enjoy Marley.

Clapton LOVES to sing blues. Problem is, he sucks at it. Really, really sucks. He has a great voice for rock, but he just can't cut it as a blues man. Wilting, insipid vocals. Just awful. Instrumentally he's brilliant but as a blues vocalist he's a failure.
Marley is the real thing. Throw in the "desert island" background and it's all over for Clapton. |
Gotta' go with EC here. Not that I'm hatin' on the Marley (love the Bob).
|
Never did get the reggae thing. EC by a light year.

Tough one - like the choice between Jan (older years) and Marsha - depends on your drug of choice for that night...l

No reggae in my play list mon! Make it Clapton.

On the other hand, what if Bob hadn't died yet? Or rather, compare them both based on what they had done at the time of Marley's death...
