Let’s not use school-yard insults just to prop up our sense of patriotism.

It seems ok for the Frogs to make life difficult for American flight crews in France, but now you say that "its quite mature" when someone suggests its being done on the other side of the Atlantic? Very mature on your part. At least 4th grade IMHO.

School yard insults? Please look in the mirror or at your fellow countrymen and ask why they are doing this to us, then lets talk. You fail to address why these actions are being taken only in france.

Peter,

Not to worry, we are stupid Americans and know nothing. Why the people of the world are jumping our borders trying to get in is a mystery, but never the less I understand its happening. I understand that there are even french trying to get in America, being tired of the high taxes and knowing that the country is slowly going downhill in the world, but guess its just a false rumour.

I assume that you learned how to do heart surgery by watching the cartoons on Saturday morning on the television? Could not have been in the OR or classrooms where my ex-wife learned transplants. Oops, she was a German and Germans do not know anything either. Only the frogs know these things. Sorry for the slip...

Joe

I'll presume you did not know, and not claim you were a liar.

On May 28, 2005, Navy SEAL Lieutenant Andrew Ledford, the commanding officer of the platoon of SEALs that were accused of inflicting the fatal beating, was acquitted of all responsibility for al-Jamadi's death. Ledford had been charged with assault, dereliction of duty, conduct unbecoming an officer and making false statements.

So since he did die, AND there was no negligence, just as in Teddy's case, I don't want to hear any of you lefties bring it up again. This was apparently a similar situation to Teddy's & you guys find that very easy to overlook!

Joe, I think that RPK is an American and a vet. Not sure, but reasonably sure.

you must be reading between the lines. It seems the archbishop was questioning the manner in which the US was conducting foreign policy and was in no way related to the question attributed to him in this anecdote.

This thread could use a little music.

Here's a nice little love ballad that should help... ;)

An American animal doctor...in France? I really don't think so.

Yes I guess it is. Besides, this guy sounds a lot nicer than that Kopekne broad.

The assignment was clear: kill or capture Jamadi. The CIA had identified the Iraqi as a former officer in Saddam Hussein's army and a key leader of a terrorist cell. He was also considered a suspect in an attack on the al-Rashid Hotel during a visit by Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz in October 2003.

SEAL Dan Cerrillo described the capture to CIA investigators six months later. As Cerrillo placed a charge on the apartment, the door opened. Cerrillo rushed the door, striking Jamadi with it.

Then, according to the report, Cerrillo hit Jamadi "in the face with two fists and attempted to wrestle the subject to the ground, but Jamadi resisted and they engaged in hand-to-hand combat." After a considerable struggle, Jamadi was eventually subdued and cuffed by Cerrillo, a hood was placed over his head, and he was taken first to an Army base, then to the SEALS field base, known as Camp Jenny Pozzi.

You guys are like me and one of my brother in laws. We disagree, I call him an idiot, he calls me a fascist, and then he says next time you come over bring your own beer.

Yeah. My brother's a fascist and I'm an idiot. We have a similar relationship to you guys :).

Mule, I do not follow your reasoning. Equating running off a road into a pond to this death is a stretch. Or are you just comparing the apparent coverups in both cases.

"Nearly two years later, the CIA is still investigating Jamadi's death. A military autopsy labeled his death a homicide, due to "blunt force trauma to the torso complicated by compromised respiration."

Autopsy photos show lacerations and multiple bruises on Jamadi's feet, thighs and arms. His most significant injuries -- five broken ribs -- are not visible in the photos. There were no bruises in that area, leading military medical examiners to say that the fractures were probably caused by a slow, deliberate application of force, such as someone kneeling on his chest.

NPR consulted Dr. Edmund Donoghue, chief medical examiner of Cook County, Ill., and president of the American Academy of Forensic Scientists, on the military's autopsy report. Donoghue agreed with its findings.

How Jamadi was shackled "makes it very difficult to breathe because you are suspended in a very awkward position," Donoghue told NPR. "When you combine it with having the hood over your head and having broken ribs, it's fairly clear that this death was caused by asphyxia because he couldn't breathe properly," said Donoghue."
