Correcting ins. databse info

Anyone know how to address ins. info that's reported incorrectly? I've been through this before, but I don’t recall the details on how to correct this. All I recall is there is one database that all the ins. companies utilize. And if the info in it is wrong, it's a pain to correct.

Here's why I ask. I got an on-line auto insurance quote. Apparently my current ins. reported the accident my wife had in October incorrectly.
  • They have her as being over 50% at fault. This is not correct. She did not get a ticket. The other driver ran a red light and hit her broadside.
  • They have the accident listed twice. It's reported like she got in two accidents in one day.

I swear insurance companies report stuff wrong on purpose. That way other companies will quote coverage for way more than their premium.

They don't. They just have low paid and not well educated people handling masses of data. It's not surprising some stuff gets entered twice. Just call the adjuster assigned to your case and politely explain the situation and ask that they correct the Chicago Index report. If that doesn't work call your agent and have them work on it.
