ESPN2, NHRA coverage sux big time.
I just got done writing another letter to NHRA and espn about their incredibly bad coverage over the past two seasons. seems they put some mentally handicapped human resources person in charge of programming and she's taken the PC inclusiveness and diversity to an all time low. Last year the only thing they talked about was Ashley. Constantly. If they even bothered to mention another driver, it was JR Todd.
This year, it's the antron brown show with a little angelle thrown in for balance. Guess they failed to realize that there are drivers in that series who actually WIN RACES! I wonder how long it will take for NHRA to start giving weight penalties to the cars driven by "non-minorities and non-members of protected groups"? We have to make it fair after all. What's next, the rainbow drag racing team? |
They are looking for fresh, young faces to put on camera. JR Todd was running as good as anybody for quite some time. John Force's cute daughter, overdone, yeah, surprise, no. Angelle is the second winningest ever in PS Bike. If she keeps her head out of her ass she wins. And besides, she looks like this:

Wasn't he #1 qualifier at Pomona, first time out? If Beard can get a handle on marginal tracks, they will win lots of races. As we speak, I would rather have Antron behind the wheel than Tony Schumaker. |
And just like NASCAR, they supress all the juicy stuff you really want to know.
Is it true that JF racing has more tire problems because their Mustang body makes more downforce than everybody else? Why are Harley's allowed traction control & nobody else is? What were the "exotic metal " engine parts they made Greg Anderson stop using that made him mortal again? You won't get info like this http://www.dragracingonline.com/analysis/ix_10-nhra2-1.html on espn. |
Remember the dodge boys, (Scott Geoffrion and Darrell Alderman)? They were killing everyone, then one day NHRA did a one sentence blurb that said someone broke into the dodge boys shop and smashed all their engine parts and the dodge boys would no longer race in NHRA, and later we found that the drivers sat out about 5 years (coincidence).
The story goes that they were caught cheating with nitrous buried deep in the engine, and they were forced to smash their own stuff. NHRA hushed that one up big time. NHRA is supposed to about the racing. The cars, the drivers. Not some human interest story. It's turning more and more into one of those stupid magazines at the grocery store check-out the mindless housewives read. |
