I'd love to find one of these $500,000 homes that are now going at firesale prices

One down the street from me - was foreclosed - three houses for sale right now over a $1M (one with a killer view at 3.2M)- that one will probably be $500k = it will kill the comps...

Just bought a position on it - I suspect it'll run up for a few days (or maybe just today) but I should be able to make a decent return on it before the next torpedo hits the financial sector.

Hopefully you still have it! As you know, JPM quadrupled their offer, and Bear Sterns is trading at over $10 now.

Every once in a while, I play it right. I think this was one of those times. My only regret is I didn't buy more! If I were really smart I'd have purchased option contracts, but right now I'm just trying to make a little $$$ and stay in the game.

12.19 now...td ameritrade srewed me and i could not get in so i closed it...i am pissed as it was 2.50 and i was gonna buy 5000....ugh!

I think I'd sell now. Any gains on BS are manna from heaven at this point. Don't think it's going to go any higher until it goes away for good.

I bought at 5.60 - just sold on a market order - wish I would have bought more - I'm happy - just erased my 401K two year slide - in a week ;)

I'd wait on selling. The markets need something to feel good about so I suspect there will be a little bit more "irrational exuberance" driving this up for the next few days.

I had considered cashing out 2 of my stocks, one that I need to cash out on now the other is performing horribly and I need to just cut it and run. I was going to put it all into Bear and hesitated. I am pretty bummed out now. :(
