Our Ducks - a Study on Race Relations
A few weeks ago I noticed three ducks in our pond. The interesting thing is that one of the ducks is of different specie. I am not sure if ducks are territorial or like to co-mingle with different ducks but these seem to get along very nicely. There are two Mallards (male and female) and a Wood Duck (male).
Does this seem normal or are these ducks looking to cross race barriers and make a united pond? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1205873915.jpg |
We have Muscovy Ducks and Mallards galore. I don't know if they interbreed, but they do seem to get along. We also have "something else". I don't know what it is, but it is smaller than a duck, brown, with a long neck, orange bill and feet.

A widgeon, perhaps?

Medium brown, smaller than a duck, long neck, long legs, maybe a little white in the feathers, they can fly, and the bill, legs and feet are orange.
I just call them "Duck type things", or DTTs for short. |
Those are Obama ducks, the kind that interact, get along, and change for the better. Gosh, the world is a better place now.

What ever they are, the smart money says they are good eat'n!
