How does Netflix do it?

I put two movies in a mail box yesterday at 4:30, and at 7:02 this morning, I got an email saying they received the movies. Now that's one well-run company.

How do they get their mail so fast? They must have a special arrangement with the US Post Office.

Perhaps they have a lot of local distribution centers for their movies. They have one in the DC 'burbs, so I get excellent turnaround. Netflix rocks!

Which can be seen in the local video chains going tits-up. I don't use NetFlix, but I despised Hollywood Video and Blockbuster.

I've gotten some fast notifications, but not nearly that fast. I really like Netflix, and when Blockbuster had their deal with their local stores mixed in, I passed. I wasn't going to give them business after all the late fees they nailed me for. First they gouge you, then the mooch the Netflix idea.

I like to input the interesting movies when they hit the theaters so it's in my queue before I forget about it and the movie goes to DVD.

I had many slow turnarounds with Blockbuster's competing service, so I punted them and went to Netfix. I'm glad I made the switch.

My friend thinks they have a deal with the devil.

I have been a netflix customer for years - very well run company.

They have distribution centers all over the country, if they happen to have one near you, the movies come very quickly. Sometimes the movie you want is located in another city and they will email you stating that it will take a couple of extra days.

Very satisfied customer.

If blockbuster was half the price of netflix I still wouldn't do business with them. Their late fees used to be astronomical and if you dropped the movie off past midnight it was considered late even though they were closed until the next morning. That always pissed me off.

Some post offices in the city have boxes for the local zip code, Manhattan only and Netflix. Due to e-mail and FedEx and the like - they must be the Post Office's best customer.

I used to love the Blockbuster online service because I could rent a movie online, then return it in the store in exchange for a free in-store rental. A 2-fer deal. Then they cut that deal out, so they instantly became no better than Netflix.
